The Shadow & The Child
Saturday June 28th • 12:30-4pm • Victor NY
An experiential workshop exploring the connection between shadow work and inner child healing.
Through breathwork, movement, and reflection, we’ll confront the parts of ourselves we've buried in order to reconnect with our fundamental vitality.
Do you feel disconnected from your spark, your joy, your sense of self?
When was the last time you felt fully free in your body, your choices, your life?
Are you ready to understand more about your unconscious patterns?
“Working with Eli has helped open me up and shift my relationship to my own pain, sadness, and joy.”
— Matt Rohrer, LCSW, MSED, Psychotherapist
In this workshop you will:
Learn about the value of inner child work
Explore your shadow self & its unconscious ‘NO’ to life
Experience the power of group process work
Take part in a guided breathwork journey of integration
“Inner child work” may sound warm-and fuzzy. In reality, it often means meeting the parts of ourselves that were neglected, humiliated, terrified, or enraged. The parts that split off just to survive. The scream you weren’t allowed to make. The fists you weren’t allowed to clench. The truth you weren’t allowed to tell.
“The child self lives in all of us—not just as a memory, but as a living energy, needing to be felt, heard, and integrated.” — Susan Thesenga
Many of us are cut off from our open-hearted, spontaneous, playful nature. We may admire those qualities in others, or we might feel uncomfortable or even triggered by them, especially in our own children.
This loss didn’t happen by accident.
At some point, we got hurt. And we made a decision, whether consciously or not, that we would never let ourselves be hurt like that again.
We built armor. We buried the tender parts.
At the time, that was protection. But what protected us then often limits us now.
Those buried parts hold our sensitivity, creativity, instinct, and capacity for connection. Reclaiming them isn’t just about healing the past. It’s about expanding what’s possible in the present.
This work is an invitation to stop abandoning what’s most alive in us, and to begin making space for it again.
To reconnect with our essence, we have to confront the shadow that guards it. This is not easy work, but it is incredibly liberating.
In this workshop, we’ll use breathwork and other somatic practices to explore what we’ve buried, discover what we’ve been protecting, and begin the process of reclaiming what was lost.
“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure, however, is disagreeable and therefore not very popular." —Carl Jung
